DO I NEED MEDICARE?

WHAT IT IS AND HOW IT CAN HELP

So you’re curious about Medicare, and you’re browsing the best coverage options before you apply for Medicare online. You probably have a rough idea of what Medicare is, but you probably have more questions about Medicare than answers.

But that’s okay. You’re in the right place!

Medicare is a national health insurance program here in the U.S. It provides comprehensive medical coverage to those who are 65 or older, as well as to those who are struggling with certain disabilities.

Medicare is surprisingly affordable and accommodating. The goal of Medicare is to provide health insurance for all eligible candidates regardless of their income, medical history, or health status. With this in mind, there’s a Medicare package for just about any kind of budget and any set of life circumstances.

Even better: Medicare covers more than you would think. Below are just some of the health services that Medicare covers:

  • Hospital inpatient services
  • Outpatient prescription drugs
  • Physician payments
  • Hospital outpatient services
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Home health
  • Silver Sneakers (access to local health clubs)
  • Food and over-the-counter benefits

Bottom line: Medicare fills the gaps where other health insurance providers are lacking, and I’m here to help you get the perfect Medicare package for your unique circumstances.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR MEDICARE?

FIND OUT IF YOU QUALIFY AND APPLY FOR MEDICARE ONLINE

Before you apply for Medicare online, you should understand exactly how Medicare coverage works. Medicare plans are divided into two parts: Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medicare Insurance).

Medicare Part A will help you pay for hospital inpatient costs, skilled nursing care, limited home health-care services, and hospice care. Most people who qualify for Part A do not have to pay premiums. You will likely qualify for Part A if:

  • You’re 65 or older (working or not)
  • You’re disabled (regardless of age)
  • You are currently receiving or are eligible for retirement benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board
  • You or your spouse worked a Medicare-covered government job
  • You are a kidney dialysis or kidney transplant patient

Medicare Part B will help you pay for doctor visits, lab tests, medical equipment, medical supplies, preventative services, chemotherapy, physical therapy, and more. You will likely qualify for Part B if:

  • You’re 65 or older (working or not)
  • You’re disabled (regardless of age)
  • You have End Stage Renal Disease
